To help eldest daughter out so she has transport to get to her new job I have promised to give her my trusty old Mk1, giving me an excuse to get a newer 5. This is now getting very expensive, two new tyres, new road tax (only 6 months!), pay for her insurance and a service so that everything is good for her before she gets any wages.
What really rubs the salt in is that I bought it off her three years ago for a good price (for her) when she got a company car in her last job. I’ve had lots of work done on it in that time, new clutch, new springs, shocks, sills, cam belt, water pump, radio, just to mention a few. I’ll give her a list of things I haven’t renewed or changed which will be fairly short.
Been there done that…kids (espes) daughters cost you a fortune, as above, it’s being called a father…just make the most of it while you can, loads of people out there would love to be in the same position as us(you)…[;)]
I agree, I am fortunate to be in a position to be able to do this and it is great to hear how excited she is about getting her old car back. From a selfish view, it has given me the excuse to get a newer 5! We both have to wait until the beginning of next month before we get our new toys.
