Covidiot experience

Interestingly, 1954, this graphic has just been shown on BBC News :+1::+1:

If selfish idiots think they’re showing some kind of “blitz spirit” by defying the rules, they need to realise what they’re doing is exactly as reckless and antisocial as ignoring the blackout rules during the blitz.

Maybe we need some public information films with someone playing Warden Hodges in his ARP helmet, yelling at people to get indoors (and maybe to “put that ruddy light out”, just for the Dad’s Army fans).

I cannot understand this one…
McDonald’s closes today, I’ve seen on the news and for myself earlier when I passed by on the ring road here. Chaos as drivers are blocking the road queueing to get a burger at the drive through. I mean all of a sudden they want a burger, the last burger for a while, they’ve got to have one.:frowning:

One blessing, we don’t live in the USA! Can you imaging being in a shopping mall with 200 armed idiots panic buying, one false move and all hell breaks loose!

It was such a lovely day on Sunday, that my wife and I took a topless ride up to a local beauty spot - Heaven’s Gate, near Longleat in Wiltshire, for a little walk. There were about two-hundred people doing much the same thing, but everyone we saw was following the government health guidelines regarding social distancing.

It was really a last-minute treat, because as Linda is asthmatic, and in an ‘at risk’ group, we both now have to self-isolate to protect ourselves.

:sob:

Well done Chris, glad you & your good lady got your walk before the more stringent measures were initiated :+1::+1: also pleased to hear that folk you came upon, were all heeding the appropriate guidelines.

Unbelievable - complete thickheads ! They will expect to be treated by the NHS if they get sick. Too many people in this Country are determined not to comply with the rules. Pity the Government can’t imprison them on a big ship and anchor it miles out to sea.

Going out for a drive now just for the fun of it is probably now about as socially acceptable as drink driving. Good job I couldn’t buy that new mx5 last year now as it would now be worth less than a pack of loo roll!!

Social distancing

Just listened to that radio interview clip. That woman is an idiot! Total disregard for herself, which is fair enough but also for anyone else! Selfish, ignorant, stupid! Multiply that up and we have part of the issue, folk that are ignoring Govt advice to the detriment of our country.as said, unbelievable really. :rage:

Went early for a walk this morning on the canal loop, the quiet bit. On our way back home walking back down the lane we came across the below.
A double whammy fine there, an unnecessary journey plus fly tipping.:frowning::roll_eyes: Morons.

In Leeds, the household waste sites are closed, fair enough. We have loads of stuff that we want to dispose of but it wouldn’t enter my head to do something like that Mick? Were going to continue with our clearing out, bag it well and just wait until normal service resumes, I might even hire a skip. Issue with that at the moment though, it would be full of other peoples crap before we had a chance to fill it! Morons!

I’m planning on getting into my mx5 tomorrow.
I won’t actually drive anywhere, I’ll just start the engine long enough to drop the roof and sit there, in the garden, enjoying the fresh air for a while!

I reported some black bin bags dumped in a wooded area just off the roadside a few weeks ago. The clean up team came ( took them a while) and picked them up. Went by afterwards and there a bit further in still bags. In touch again with the local councillor and asked him why the others weren’t picked up? He said too difficult to get at, blimey if I can get to them (I can) why can’t the council men?
At least the McD’s, KFC, Costa and local bakery waste has ceased to be thrown out of passing cars, the Stella cans and wine bottles are still discarded as normal.:frowning::roll_eyes:

I expect, to be mirrored throughout the UK and beyond, seeing most indie fast food & sit-in food outlets go to the wall, together with nail bars, charidee shops, and the endless “variety” of street hawkers.
Trouble is, this plague will also cull thousands of indie specialists, some of who may come back, but many will have to throw the towel in. It’s a minor predicament for me in the grand scheme of things but I do not think I’ll be getting the Mk1’s final painting & other bits done FOC at the resto garage as the owner does have potential health issues which could see Cov-id taking him out.
I do not think this global disaster has gained it’s full momentum yet, nor do I believe the UK in particular has seen anything approaching it’s zenith.
Every one I speak to seems to “know someone in the know” these days, but the fact is I do, being a member still of Forth Valley Broadcasting based in out local mega hospital, and having a B-in-L who is a First Responder in the Ambulance service.
Suffice to say, some of the chats over last few days have been rather disquieting in terms of potential escalations, herding cats trying to find out who infected who & when, and no chance of a National level anti-viral jag this year.
It all bringhs back the mid 1950’s when I did not see my Mother for 3 months, and my Dad lived out of a surgery trying to fight the last so called Asian flu killer epidemic.
Successive goverments both here & globally have learned & implemented absolutely nothing.

Some good points there Scottishfiver. I especially like the thought of an anti-viral jag. Maybe we should all drive around in one of them :grinning: :grinning: :+1:
