We have been asked for another Croft day like last year, so here we go.
We have been offered the 19th September, which is a Thursday.
It is a low noise day, so cars will have to pass a 88dB static noise test prior to going on circuit. Standard cars will pass this, as will most turbo cars, however if you have a big Barry exhaust and de-cat you are likely to be over 90bD and would have to do something to quieten your car down. The best option is to refit the standard back box for the day.
However, the plus points. Most importantly, Croft is a great circuit, a proper circuit and some proper corners. Secondly we will limit the cars to 25 in total. This will help us immensely with the drive by noise limit. It is an average limit at Croft, so the fewer cars, the lower the average noise and the more track time. Thirdly the price. £149 for a proper grown up circuit, with low numbers. Croft can run very few track days and so those that are run are usually £250. And finally, did I say, Croft is a great circuit? Last year we were on the TV!
So to make this happen, we need to get 25 cars at £149. Unfortunately the economics will not work otherwise. (Unless 20 cars want to pay £185)
Therefore I need those that want to come to add their name below and PayPal a £50 deposit to paypal@mazdaontrack.co.uk to reserve a place. (You can pay the full amount in one go, your money will not go anywhere until we can confirm the day) The money will stay in PayPal and be refunded in full if the day does not go ahead. It also means you need to encourage all your friends to come along to make the day happen as we only have a month to get this to fly. Please don’t put your name on the list without paying the deposit and once we get to 25 I will book the day and the deposit will be none refundable at that point.
Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of the day last year, but hopefully someone will post some up soon.
I have thought about extra drivers and we will make a £25 charge for this as you will want your car to go on track more and therefore with the way Croft’s noise limits work it could mean that you a affect the amount of driving time in the whole day and so is only fair to all involved.
