Cumbrian Flyer Part 2
Following on from the past pre pandemic visits to the Fat Lamb Inn and the included tours of the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.
At the planning meeting at the beginning of the year there was a big demand for a repeat visit. The weekend event will take place from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th August. The accommodation, breakfast and evening meals, supplying and assistance with routes cost £375. A deposit of £100, can be paid direct to the Fat Lamb on 01539623242. There are 12 places of which 5 are already booked. Time is fast creeping up on us so final arrangements need to be made as soon as possible. I need to have names for the remaining places by the end of July at the latest or I will have to cancel any that are left.
Please contact me if you have paid a deposit or if you want more details.
Cumbrian Flyer Part 2 Update
We have just returned from Cumbria, after making plans for our group visit to the Fat Lamb in August.
At present the plan is for us to make a journey up the M6. Leaving the motorway at junction 31 to have a pleasant drive up to Settle.
Then on to the Fat Lamb over some amazing roads. Dinner at the Hotel before retiring to bed ready for what promises to be a great day out.
The plan is to take a leisurely drive to the Lake District over some beautiful countryside and a visit to the Lakeside Motor Museum. We will then take short drive to Haverthwaite station to take a steam train ride to Lakeside and a boat ride up Lake Windermere to Bowness After a short time in Bowness we will return to the cars by boat and train. We will then make our way back to the Fat Lamb in time for evening dinner.
The following day, after breakfast and check out we will have another interesting drive ending in Skipton were we go our separate ways and make our way home.
I have also ordered some plaques as a souvenir of the weekend.
These plans are in the early stages so they may vary slightly.
This event is open to all Club members. Please contact me for more details or contact the Fat Lamb direct.
Places are reserved at the hotel but they cannot be held open indefinitely.
