CURBOROUGH SPRINT- THE REVIVAL ***SOLD OUT***

Just booked. Thought this would make a change from going to the club event at Blyton which I’ve done every year. Bit closer to home! and you never know I might get the bug Gerryn (just seen your post)

Will be coming up from South Central area.

Just booked - can’t wait!  First time for any kind of sprint event for me, so hoping the more experienced guys will help guide me - I KNOW you will!

Now, time to start negotiating with my better-half to see how many sessions I can book for Blyton - another ‘can’t wait’ event.

Cheers, Tim

Taking Iain’s last figures + five today makes twenty gone - - going fast! More if they didn’t post on here.
Very pleased to see newcomers, but where’s the old crowd who showed interest?

Ticket purchased…

Just need to pick a car now…

No. 68 - you don’t need downforce!

Thought for today - and for April 9th.

If you have anything you don’t need in the boot, then leave it at home. If you have tools (for emergencies) of other kit, then in case of inclement weather - it is April - - - bring a bin bag so you can keep your stuff dry. There’s not much dry space available to us on the day, so spare gear will have to be left in the paddock area, which is hard standing, but has grass verges. Also bring something to help you identify which is your bag, as there could be more than a few laying around.

The paddock is reasonably safe, but we can’t guarantee it, however any spectators may be unaware of it as it’s O.O.S. from spectating areas. However, once we are up and running cars will go by the paddock every couple of minutes, so if anyone sees anything suspicious hopefully they will notify us, and do something themselves.

I said it to start with but worth repeating - don’t drive the course with anything hard floating around in the boot - you may regret it. Coats won’t do any harm, but toolboxes will! The chicane round the molehill sorts out what’s floating in the boot! If we can run double laps or use the figure 8 (time available) then the effect is multiplied several times.

Hi Adam, I thinks you will find if difficult to compare the two, Blyton is still a great event with a lot more track time & people.

Go for hood down to encourage the sunshine Lee

Number 74 runs 250bhp…

You still sure about the downforce?

(I’m not actually sure that BGW does much in the way of aero anyway to be honest, LoL!)

You mean there won’t be complimentary hard-top stands in the pits?

Apart from the finish straight, more BHP won’t do much good, though I guess you could save a few tenths with it. Hardtops help streamlining, though they also add weight. Swings and roundabouts. I’ve never got out of fourth at Curborough even on the straight -six to choose from. Bear in mind you need to start braking once you are past the flagpole turn - or you’ll overshoot the paddock run off.

You know all this anyway - what the heck!

5 spots remaining

this might sell out pre Soft Top hardtop.

Unexpected, but you’re right Iain. embarrassing innit? I guess we should have waited a couple of days. However, I’ve been advised there’s one possible cancellation already.

The appeal for me, and why I signed up so quickly was a) Price b) It’s not as full-on as a full track weekend.

Having a go on a track for pocket money, and without having to worry about overnight childcare, is something to jump at.

Well said! Sums it up really. A regular sprint would cost you a lot more, all costs considered, and you would be lucky to get more than four runs (including practice) during the day.

worth a repost, Curb… from 2007…

you can tell my wife really enjoyed it when she got out of the passenger seat at the end… Cool

Ahh - we were all a bit younger then - - - - -

just a bit, I have photos, some are quite surprising.!

This would be my S-Limited, with the previous owner when it was a FM2, at Curborough in 2006:

Now, its just an ordinary 1.6, stuck with a 4.100 diff.

LoL! Don’t worry, my tongue was firmly in my cheek.

One thing I can say, having driven both of my cars, back to back, on the Blyton outer circuit. I much prefer the lightweight standard car over the daily driver supercharged car. Having all that power on the straights felt a bit like cheating.

Don’t forget, I have a hardtop spoiler fitted too… Definitely good for three tenths
