Curing brake pad rattle

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __mk2.5
  2. I’m based near: __manchester
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ curing brake pad rattle

Hi. I have an annoying rattle coming from the front of the car over bumps that I am pretty sure is the brake pads rattling as it doesn’t do it if I apply the brakes lightly & they do seem a bit loose in the carriers. Hubs, discs & pads are all new, as are the calipers that came complete with the hangers and spacers. I have also renewed the drop links. Any ideas?
The only thing I can think is that the pads are only cheapo ones that came with the discs & maybe a bit undersize?

Had the same problem with my 2005 NB Icon. Fitted these and cured pad rattle : https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/front-fitting-mk25-brake-mk3-35-p-4092.html

Great, thanks for that. That will probably explain it then as the new pads didn’t come with clips. I forgot to mention that mine has standard & not big brakes so the kit will be slightly different. It comes with only 1 pad clip per side, does this go on the inner or outer pad?

NB Standard brake set:

Each set does one calliper, order two sets for complete front end.

Have ordered those, but there is only one pad cljp per side. Which pad does it go on, inner or outer?

Inner pad,
