Custom car mats

I have a 25th anniversary model and the original mats are getting a bit tired. There are plenty of custom car mat suppliers with your own logo etc but none offer anything with a company logo on (for copyright reasons I guess) My mats have “MX5 25th anniversary” etc. My Mazda dealer can’t help with replacements, does anyone have any ideas?

I got a red set of mats done with ‘Launch Edition’ added to them. They aren’t embroidered into the mat, the letters are embroidered onto a oblong piece of material which is then stitched onto the mat. If that peaks your interest, I can take a picture for you.

Thanks for that, they sound like those suggested by BarkingBriards (carmats4u.com). I’ll look into that, thanks

On carmates4u they have 2006-2007 and 2008-2015. Are the NC mats different for those years?

I have a 57 Plate car :man_shrugging:

I can also vouch for Carmats4u- I got brilliant service from them a couple of months ago. Products are great quality too

The OE mats for my 30AE are still in their wrapping. I installed rubber mats from MX5Parts immediately for everyday use, the “30AE specials” are being kept for “special” occasions. :+1:

Haha, I’ve done similar in that I bought a new set of 30AE mats from mx5 parts (only £50 ish) to keep unused, and use the original 30AE mats the car came with as sort of sacrificial.
I’m also in the process of sourcing cheap (not OZ - too expensive) wheels for mine that will fit over Brembos - along with mp4/GY F1 tyres so I can tuck the Rays in the garage to keep them safe. (Mine’s a daily driver)
Daft really, should have just bought a gt sport and not worried.

Yes! Must admit those 30AE wheels are a major concern! Can you even get a replacement from Mazda if you wreck one! I very much doubt it! The mind boggles!

the clips for securing the drivers mat changed. My 2006NC had a central hole to secure it using one of these clips

whereas my 3.75NC has two securing holes like this

I think (but stand to be corrected) that they are available in the states, at around $1000 each, plus I’d need to pull in some favours to get it bought and shipped privately as a gift to avoid even more cost.
I’ve been trying for weeks on and off to find some to fit, cross referencing US design and fit information on various wheels that may be available here. Brembos are far more common over there as they are a relatively cheap option.
I think I’m finally making some progress - watch this space

Be very careful with that “gift” thing. If the US Customs people are the slightest bit suspicious they will be all over the shipper like flies on a … who could end up in REAL trouble, and the same at this end with UK Customs, where you could end up in trouble and the goods confiscated. What makes me think so? I had a friend who was a Customs officer and the stories he told about people who thought they could get around the import regs., I’m not talking about professional smugglers, they’re a different story, but ordinary people who thought the were “smart”. Be very, very careful. :+1:

Thanks, it’s a few years since I last did this, so things have probably changed - I’m hoping I don’t ever have to source a wheel :slightly_smiling_face:
