CX-3 Infotainment system

My CX-3 (17 reg) Infotainment system takes for upto an hour to work, it is getting to be annoying eg. not changing chosen radio stations, navigation system not initialising. Do I need to go to a Mazda dealer or is there another way.

Try rebooting it.

To reboot the infotainment system in a Mazda CX-3, you can try these steps:

  1. Find the Mute, Nav, and Back buttons, which are located around the multifunction command control knob
  2. Press and hold all three buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds
  3. The system should reboot automatically

I did try that a few times as seen on Utube, but no joy.

Try using it with the Nav card out and see if that improves it. My partners CX-3 used to do the same, taking the Nav card out seems to have sorted it. She uses Car Play for maps when she needs them now.

I found that copying the map card to a faster one can also make a big difference. This was discovered purely by accident when I fitted a 16GB one in the Mazda3 to accommodate the last free map update, but it’s actually a reasonable idea.

The same applies when using a USB stick for ones favourite music library, here it is definitely the faster the better, and not too big either. Keep them down to 32GB for best speed but with sufficient storage.

I’ll try both solutions but I’m a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to copying maps cards.
I did try rebooting the system and got a small colourful graph showing CPU (Computer Processing Unit!), MEM (Memory!) and VIP (?.)
USB sticks? I prefer CD’s.
