Dashboard lights no longer working & glove compartment hinges - MK1

Which “dashboard lights” night time illumination or warning lights? If the former, check for a blue plug with 3 thin wires coming from it behind one of the 3 switch blanks to the right of the steering column. Have these blanks been distributed?

Hi Robbie, there are no lights at all. It was working and then stopped?

Often when importers wire up the foglight swtch telltale, they tap into that blue connector wire. If the dashlights no longer work, besides the blue connector popping out, there might also be a broken wire when a 20 year old Scotchlock/■■■■ connector/sellotape falls apart.

The strange blue connector was actually for an optional dash dimmer switch; the switch blank actually jumps the connector.
