Hi all,
Dropped some window cleaner onto the dashboard speaker grill the other day and I’ve
just noticed that it shows up white from outside and the only way I can clean it out
without filling the speaker with bits is to remove the grill,
Anyone know its fixed in or more to the point how to get it out.
Cheers
Ned
Use a very thin ‘plastic’ wedge or trim removers and gently ease it out by working around it.

Four push in fittings, two front, two rear, do you want a picture?

Hi, safetymatch & pjr
Push fit that’s a relief.

Hi,
Something else I’ve found out about my car…
there’s no speaker under the grill in the centre of the dash
or if there is it’s hiding,

No Bose, no speaker #7 , same as me.

It’s for a speaker that’s part of the Bose component system…

That explains it then.

Not exactly a pic of the grille, but you get the idea; works for me.

Hi,
The reason I ask about a replacement grill is because if there’s no speaker I was thinking about putting a
sticky tom tom disc on the grill with the power lead up under the grill and if it messed it up removing it I
could stick the spare in.

And that’s exactly what I done with mine

Have you been snooping in my car Ned?
I had a spare and mounted a Garmin base onto it, ran the cable up and it works a treat.
The shiny panel would reflect too much for me, already looking for ways to keep the dash-cam image glare free.

pjr…
The answer is no but if I had it would have saved me trying out all the ways/places of mounting it
but what I would like to know is where do you get a spare from.
My dashcam has a cinema mode 21:9 which cuts off the top and bottom that helps with reflection.

Mine came from a scrappy, don’t pay much though as even the Mazda price is reasonable.
I believe you would get a small discount on parts at a local dealer if you show your membership card, just need to check if it was Brayleys or Norton Way.

Just been onto the main dealers and its cheaper than the unseen second-hand above.

I know this is an old thread, but all the links are now broken.
Does anybody know the part number for this centre grill? I don’t have the Bose system, so I don’t expect to have a speaker under mine, and it would be the perfect place to mount my new GPS digital speedometer/clock. I’d rather mutilate a spare grill, so that I can put the original back in come resale time.
Any good Mazda Parts Department will be able to provide you with the number and a price. Used this service many times and they never get grumpy about it.
