Dashcam audio roof down

I have a Nextbase 422GW dashcam with plug-in rear camera fitted to our RF. with the roof down and above about 40mph, the sound quality suffers from wind noise. At 60mph, very little else can be heard on playback. I have tried attaching various materials over the tiny microphone with no success. It would seem the only solution is to turn the audio recording off when driving with the roof down. Has anyone come up with a better solution?

I would use the audio from the front camera if you needed to listen to something in particular.

There is only one audio and it is on the front camera. The rear camera just plugs in to the side of the front unit and faces rearwards. I think it’s the wind noise coming over the top of the front screen that causes the problem.

Ah, I see. I’ve just checked mine at 60mph with roof down and whilst it is still noisy I can hear the car stereo and a conversation with the boss.

I would keep the audio on at all times as it is still useful up to 60mph.
