Has anyone fitted daytime driving lights to a MK3
I’ve found that Mazda produce a daytime driving lights kit (C831-V7-460B)
Has anyone fitted them, if so can you post some pictures

You supprise me thought we would be talking £100.00
I think the Mazda kit is just a control box that puts your side lamps on with the ignition.
Really? For 30 quid?? I think I spy my next project…
I’ve checked and that is indeed the case. The kit consists of a control module, a wiring harnes, some sticky pad things and some cable ties. It doesn’t even isolate the rear lights.
I’m not looking for a fashion sstatements just want to be more visible and the insurance company will not find
So it’s not US-style DRLs or anything like that, it just turns on the sidelights when driving? The image on the web page doesn’t give a lot of guidance on what it does!
Hi All
What are the rules for the use of DRL’s. if any?
I know that there are rules position on the vehicle but what about usage.
Are rear lights allowed to be on?
Maximum brightness of DRL’s?
Do they have to dim at night ?
Do they have to extinguish when headlights are on?
Etc

No answers? No rules?
As I understand it, there are no specific rules for DRLs other than those that apply to side/headlights. White up front, red at back, placed near the corners…
In good visibility all lighting is optional, so whether you light the rears or not is up to you. At night I’m not so sure…I think as long as they are the right colour and don’t dazzle oncoming cars, you can have as many sets of lights illuminated as you wish. Just look at your average ‘modded’ truck…they mostly look like a council house at christmas.
Some info on the use of daytime running lights here on the AA website. Really, auto on side lights are not really daytime running lights…
I have fitted these to my mk2.5
I used these rules from the Department of transport
Just had an MOT and flew through no problem
That is an awesome reference.
It clears up all the misinformation about Daytime Running Lights.
Thanks
