Dead 2019 Morgan plus4

Went for a bike ride from Barnstaple to Bideford yesterday.
On the way back we stopped at the cafe at Fremington Quay, where there was a very pretty 2019 Morgan parked outside.
The owner came to drive it away but no go.
Apparently, you have to touch the transponder key to the dashboard to switch off the immobiliser but it wasn’t happening.
What a nightmare…

Cars are too clever for their own good nowadays. My first motorised transport, a 50s Vespa scooter I owned back in the 60s didn’t even have an ignition switch. You just turned the petrol on, kick-started it and off you went. No keys needed!

My Mazda6 has all the bells and whistles, but I love my little NB for its simplicity.

I don’t think screwing an Earth wire onto an ash frame would work for too long…

That picture brings back memories.
Back in the late 70’s/early 80’s virtually every car that had velour upholstery had to have one of these dragging on the road in an attempt to stop static electricity shocking you when you got out of the car.
Not sure if they ever worked, as in those days we could never afford anything with velour! We had old poverty spec bangers with plastic upholstery, 2 kids and 2 mortgages!

Nothing about it on any of the Morgan Forums - were a pretty vocal bunch so if it was someone there they’d probably mention it.

I resisted the temptation to fit one.

I did have a nodding dog on the fixed rear shelf, pin striping and a sun strip across the top of the windscreen.

This guy didn’t seem the type to belong to a forum - if there is a type…
He said he never drives it far and it looked like the mileage would have been in the hundreds rather than thousands ie immaculate. Fremington is between Barnstaple and Bideford/Instow.

I would guess he lives in that immediate area.

I must admit to the windscreen strip and the pin stripes down the sides (2 different widths, to look more shporty) but drew the line on the nodding dog!

Admit it.
You had a glass fibre whip Aerial about 5 foot long as well.
We all did.

Haha, yep, for my cb radio - remember those 10/4?

Yip.
Mine looked so cool on the purple Metaflaked SWB Beachbuggy.
Frikken death trap it was…especially when we put a TC 1600cc Transporter mill in…and ignored the all-drum brakes.
Need a 10-100 buddy
