When it’s been flat the instruments will shoot right to max when it’s first powered up. Think it’s recalibtaion going on. Probably get ABS and traction lights too. Should all clear next time it is started.

Just wanted to add…Nowadays I remove the ‘Room’ fuse for periods when my Mk3 is not going to be in use. I haven’t had the defect traced but even with a new battery installed it drained within a few weeks
