Detailing World Top 16 Waxstock Show

Having lost count on the hours spent getting the Red un show prepped over the winter, thought I would try to qualify and enter this prestigious event.

First to show a MX-5 (probably the last) at this annual event taking place 6/7th July, to enter I have to qualify by the No of “thanks”  on the entry thread,  pop over to

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=309101&page=3

and have a look.  Voting closes Tuesday 11th June.

29 cars have entered in total.  Voting will decide on the Top 16 showdown with another four in reserve.

Thanks Ian

Update…

Qualified 12th out of the 29 cars entered, looks like I am gonna be very busy getting everything prepped for the show.

Well done. Hope it all goes well

Alan

Almost ready and well prepped for the weekend Waxstock Show, over 60 hours spent on detailing every nut & bolt.

Two stage polishing by Autodetox Detailing, Barry is very experienced in getting the Japanese soft paint looking lovely.

Seats out to make sure no leaf’s are lurking under there.

After 1st Stage polish

All pretty much done.

Up against some strong opposition for the £500 first prize and £200 for second, five judges on each entrant.

good luck Ian, looking good…

Stick Tongue Out Thanks Martin Whistling

Leaf it out Martin, you know it’s a touchey subject.

Don’t forget your mazda menders magic mix, but there is not a lot of soap in it so i personally add my own choice of shampoo for those extra bubbles and suds, it’s a wash and wax you know, lol

GOOD LUCK IAN Thumbs upCool

M-m

Looking good, hope all goes well Cool

That looks great, but isn’t the whole point of entering that you’ve done all the work yourself, good luck anyway, there is some tough competition there this yearThumbs up

That’s some dedication.  Good Luck Thumbs up

No, you obviously dont know the competition rules.

Thanks Thumbs up

Really?? okStick Tongue Out i know nothingRolling eyes

Rules as published - Rule 2, highighted

  1. The Car needs to be available for the weekend of Waxstock - This means overnight Saturday night. Please dont enter if your car will not be available for the show. Free Entrance tickets will be provided to you. We will also have cleaning facilities available on the Saturday to assist with preperation
    2) Car should be 'prepared substantially by the entrant’
    3) 7 pictures maximum please
    4) Cars will be polled on DW and then the top 16 to be chosen on Facebook. (4 reserves)
    5) Rules can be changes at our discretion

As the competition is all about detailing, I would have thought that having the bodywork prepared by professionals is a little doubtful.

But then it is up to the competition organisers to check compliance with the rules, and they appear to have accepted the entry. So you could both be right.

Anyway Ian, best of luck - it would be great for you, the car and the club if you could win it.

Hmm i’m not going to get to drawn into it but, would like it noted i did wish him all the best, but seems like speedy aka ian has a problem with anyone who doesn’t agree with himThinking

third place…  nice work Ian, Thumbs up

hi, went to waxstock today and was on the lookout for your car, me and my mate who is a pro detailer thought your 5 looked absoloutly fantastic mate, well done! i am surprised you only got 3rd though

Many thanks, some seriously stiff competition the Five was up against, I thought the White Scirroco or the Jaguar would get placed, so really well chuffed to achieve third at my first attempt and makes all the hard work and hours spent worthwhile.

Well done Ian mate Thumbs up and fully deserved as I know first hand how many hours that you PERSONALY spent preparing the red un.
