Diagram of the exhaust system.

Has anyone got a diagram of the exhaust system for mx5 2001 nbfl 1.8 16v svt automatic

I am trying to by the centre section of the exhaust. I order one but the supplier cancelled the order because they said the automatic is completely different to the manual car and that the diagram was of and exhaust for a manual  but when I compared the diagram to the exhaust on the car it  looks like the manual version and nothing like the diagram they sent for the auto exhaust.  supplier are saying the cat is on the centre section but it’s not on the one on my car

So I want to make sure I have the right exhaust

The one they want to sell working from the back of the car after back bock the pipe bolts to back box then this section has the centre silencers then a push fit connection with clap to the cat the the cat bolts to the drop section

Where the one on car is a one piece pipe with centre silencer that bolts to the cat

I am being told that my car has the wrong system so everytime I place the order they cancel it

Its driving me potty why cannot people accept that manufacture do not alway use the bits the say especially  at model change over periods

Plus it’s over £100 difference in the two systems. I want to get it right.

Can anyone help

I use the Bosal site for exhaust system diagrams. If you follow the link through you’ll get the options for your car.

If you really get stuck I can post a photo of the page with diagrams.

My 91 is an auto and after some research I found that the autos manifold is straighter than the manual so I bought a 421 manifold for a manual and with a blow torch and brute force I bent the bugger to fit

I had a similar problem with a 2005 Impreza non Turbo. There were plenty of Turbo exhaust systems in the aftermarket. As only a small number of non Turbo cars were imported only Subaru could supply. That was ÂŁ900 for a back box and a small middle box and that did not include the Cat that was at the front of the car.

Same problem here with the Automatic Mk2.5.

Complete exhaust with new cat is two pounds short if ÂŁ800,
But mx5 parts have shown me an alternative way which will be less than ÂŁ80 in total mean cutting up the existing exhaust and cutting up a new standard centre section with two exhaust spacer pipes. As there is nothing wrong with the cat.
So it would see where there is a will there’s away.

As for cost from the USA the DHL charge $75 for a 7day delivery there will be 20% vat to add atfor customs uk if you sort this before hand there not admin fee added.
There are ways. At the moment still want for a price from a local firm to make an exhaust using a generic cat

Well magna flow USA will supply the correct mid section with cat for $500 plus $80 shipment

It’s not that expensive to send things around the world these days. The sam3 exhaust system from a local suppliers is over £800 once you add vat and delivery. Anyway I was convinced that as there was nothing wrong with the cat to live that section in place and use the fitting kit that come with the half mid section issue solved for less than £80.
Remember chrome and Google uk are not always your best search engines .set your computers to use national search engines for different nations.

Both mx5 parts and mx5city where very help
But the best chap was called callum goes under Zombie on eBay and he gave me lots of contacts.

I also say do not be afraid of using Japanese or American websites as they turn some very good prices and importing is not that expensive.
Remember you pay not tax local and pay 20% as it comes through customs if customers bother to check.
