Evening all,

Firstly my car is a Mk2.5 1.8 sport (lsd) 2002, and my diff is duff !!! (Very noisy and when I changed the oil recently I found large chunks of metal attached to the magnetic drain plug, not great…)

Now I have a few options, chance ebay etc for another lsd for £250+ or buy from my local scrap yard with a 6 month warranty.

The scrap yard option is attractive however I can’t get an LSD, only standard diffs for £90.

So my question is this… Can I fit a 1.8 standard diff to replace the currently duff lsd? IF so will I need to replace drive shafts etc…?

Hi yours will be Fuji diff and well noted for your exact problem.Torsen LSD is the best way to go but open are lot cheaper.We have aTorsen 3.9 diff in stcok and no you wil not need any shafts for your car.Diff is straight swop.(early 1.6 need 3 shafts changed)
