Door dinks

Has anyone used a door dink kit for removing said door Dink’s are they any good and what kit is worth buying any help would be grateful

Unfortunately it seems that dent removal whilst being a potentially DIYable exercise, generally requires a level of skill that takes time and experience to attain the desired result.

There are numerous kits available - some suck out the dent, others use pads and hot glue to pull the dent.

Have a go by all means but the general advice is leave the dents as I have on my MX5 since buying the car in 2002 or pay one of the big mobile franchise companies to do them for you.

There are some really good specialists but it does cost. Most of the big companies are run on a franchise basis and you may get it done cheaper if you can contact an operator directly. Most used car dealers will have a business card or phone number for someone local and good.

While not directly answering your original question. I have used dent repairing companies and they do a repair that is un-noticeable. Normally in the region of £65 per panel, so more cost effective if you have more than one ding in the door panel.

I used ‘Dent Perfect’ in Wakefield, he took one out the passenger door and another out of the flared wheel arch bulge (NC).

He only charged me £45.

Well worth it.

I’ve used the Dent Devils guys at the Spring or National rallies. However, at those events it will depend on where the dent is. I have a small crease on the driver’s door which is right by the door lock mechanism. At the Spring rally last year they tried to fix it but could not do a complete job without taking the door card off and they weren’t prepared to do that at the rally as it would take too long. It would also have cost more. As it was they only charged me £20 for what they did which was still a noticeable improvement.

I’d vote for the expert route as well. I found one from our local Mazda / Ford dealer and he did an excellent job. It was £40 which was almost worth it just to see how he did it…absolutely amazing
