doors and hoods

 Hi all . Im new to this forum and to mx5’s . what i would like to know is can you use a mk1 door for a mk2 car , what are the differences between them ?

also can a mk1 hood fit a mk2 car? also im from chatham in kent , does anyone else live near me as i see very few mx5’s around here , i know thats its not the weather for

the hood down so there may be a few garaged this time of year . THANKS FOR YOUR HELP  from a new chap with a mk2 green mx5 1.6

As for Chatham, Kent my old blue MK2.5 Sport is there so give Nicke a wave if you see her

The hoods are interchangeable between a MK1& MK2. Doubt very much the doors are though.

If you need a MK2 door try Autolink or Junk Yard Dog & AK Automotive on MX5nutz as they break MX5s.

The doors can’t be swapped, without body modifications. The interiors can be transplanted, with some work. The Mk1 hood will fit a Mk2.

 I’ve only ever seen one Mk1 hood on a Mk2 frame and it split as the frames are different sizes at the rear hoop. You could fit a MK1 hood and frame, but why would you want to?
