Double din radio fascia Adapter/Panel - NC - Aftermarket vs Mazda

Hi,

I’m new to the MX5 OC but I would appreciate some advice/feedback re: the above.

I have seen many aftermarket fascia plates to fit my double din Kenwood DNN9150DAB to my 2009 Mk3 galaxy grey 2.0 ltr NC Roadster - but most never seem to be a good colour match - but I have seen a genuine Mazda on at MX5parts.co.uk - that is expensive but would obviously be a perfect match for the dashboard etc.

See - https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/radio-face-plate-genuine-mazda-mk3-p-3039.html

My question is - if anyone has any experience of this - the genuine Mazda item is designed for a 1 din radio plus cubby box - if I removed the centre dividing bar would this give me a standard double din aperture or failing that does anyone know an aftermarket fascia that is a near perfect match for the dash colour please ?

Cheers for any help

Kim

Morning Kim, I have the other offering from mx5Parts, the aftermarket one that comes with all the parts for single or double din? It’s a great match colour wise, fits fine and does the same job at a lesser price? Remember you need to factor in the connector leads when you change from the original radio unit and a patch lead for the steering wheel controls. I fitted a single din unit with a 7" motorised screen, the “cubby” sits nicely below, providing an additional bit of storage, front and centre.

I’ve just had a Kenwood 7017DABS fitted by Halfords who did a great job for only £50 fitting fee. They used a Connects2 facia and it matches perfectly. That part cost £60 and the steering wheel control / DIN adapter was another £60 by Autoleads.

I have the Connects2 facia kit installed, it’s a perfect match to the rest of the dash.

Just make sure you get the correct kit, that’s for either NC1 or maybe NC2, which do you have?

Hi

Thanks for all the great advice - looks like a Connects2 fascia it is then for my NC1

Many thanks again people

Bit late to the party but +1 for the Connects2 fascia.
