DRILLED AIRBOX VERSUS TESCO CAR INSURANCE!!!!

I fitted a drilled airbox to my 1996 NA 1.8 today - then rang Tesco car insurance.  Note that I already have a Pipercross panel filter and the IL Motorsports CAT-back stainless exhaust system.

Tesco’s reaction?  We won’t insure you!  7 days to revert to standard airbox or policy nul and void.

My reaction?  Changing insurer to Flux tomorrow.

Forewarned is forearmed!

FYI - car now sounds…frikking awesome.  Keep your heat-soak boy-racer induction kits - drill ya box instead!

not 100% familar with this airbox mod thing, butr are you saying all you did was drill some holes in it and they now won’t insure you ?  That’s mad.  Surely they just don’t understand do they…

What does Adrian S Flux say about this??

It’s an old-school alternative to a silly foam cone induction kit and it’s far less invasive engine-wise.

Tesco said yes to sports panel filter - yes to CAT-back exhaust and no to Swiss cheese airbox.  So - yup - I swithced to Flux today.  Cheaper too!

They said - ‘We don’t care - give us your money, boy.’
