I’ve a 2009 NC. When driving over uneven roads I get the occasional knock/clonk/rattle from the glass within the drivers door.
This only happens when the window is fully closed.
If it drop the windows by a couple of inches so that more glass is retained inside the door, the glass is more secured, so does shake or make the noise.
Before I remove the door panel, has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Yes mine did the same, as you say drop the window a couple of inches and no rattle.
I reckon constant use and some do tend to shut the door with a hand on the glass causes the looseness in the glass against the weather strip (the black seal that runs across the top of the door)
The fix, costing a few £’s is renew that weather strip, purchase from the dealer.
My fix, free, I opened up the rubber strip (the part that the window slides against) it’s hollow, and slide a section of flexible curtain wire down it to pack it out. Result, no more rattles.
In both senarios the door card will need to be removed to get at the offending strip.

@MickAP - Thanks, the curtain wire trick seems to have worked. It was a struggle to push it in, but a little WD40 helped.

Yes mine was a little tricky to thread in, I used some silicone spray.
