My Drivers Side Electronic Window Stopped Working
My Non Specialist Mechanic Locked It in the Up Position
Cause Was Corrosion
[Central Locking With the Zapper Not Worked For a Long Time…Next Problem To Solve After This One]

Today 12.12.22 took the Parcel to Mechanic to Check I’d Got the Right Part
MX5 Part No SI449

Mechanic Said…Probably
HIS PROBLEM IS THAT THE PART DIDN’T COME ‘MADE UP’
That Usually He Would Get Such a Part Already Made Up

So I Said I Could Do a Post Here to Ask For Your Advice re
Fitting the Mechanism That Doesn’t Come Made Up because
I Know That Many of You Will Be Able to Offer Guidance to Him
Because You’ve Done One Already

He’s Cool With This Post…But Not an Entirely Happy Bunny as His Previous Experience of Fitting Ones that are ‘Not Already Made Up’ have Put Him Right Off ‘Adding Another String to His Bow’…So to Speak

This Matter is Time Sensitive Because I Need to Return the Parcel to MX5 Parts to Get Refund
Unless Any Reader Can Help Me Convince My Non-Specialist That the Task May Not Be as Challenging as He Thinks at the Moment

Unfortunately that part does not include the motor or the nylon drum, so I would not have bought it.
Fitting these to your motor is not that straightforward relies on the nylon drum in yours being reusable.
I would send it back and buy a full mechanism. As I sell these refurbished with a guarantee, will private message you.
As an aside, not known one of these stop working just because of corrosion. It may stop working it situ because the runners, etc are so dirty that it cannot perform. Other than that, usual problem is a snapped cable, most often caused by the above.
