Meet at 1.50pm at Filching Manor and Motor Museum, Filching, Near Polegate, BN26 5QA
This is another great opportunity to visit Filching Manor and motor museum. We did visit the museum and house a couple of years ago but due to popular demand we have arranged a further visit. There are no restrictions on numbers
The tour has been booked for 2pm which will last approximately 2 hours.
Firstly, a visit to the manor, a 15thC Wealden hall house on site of 600 AD priory.
Then moving onto the museum areas. There are several rare cars including several Bugagttis, Gangios very own racing car, The Alesso, and many many more. Also a vast collection of motoring memorabilia. The museum also holds some of the entries to the London to Brighton run.
There is another section of the museum which is dedicated to the Campbells and the Bluebirds. The Bluebird itself may be in the museum on the day depending on whether it is being worked on or another attempt to launch is being made.
The fee is £8.00 per person, payable on entry. Toilet facilities are available
We have a Go Karting event (Filching Manor track) in the morning and have arranged a picnic lunch in the paddock between the Campbell Go Karting Circuit and the Manor House. As we will actually be at one of these events up until 2pm there is no arranged run before the event. So if you wish to join us please either:-
(a) Meet us at Birling Gap National Trust café Beachy Head Road, East Dean BN20 0AB at 10am and join us for coffee and the short run down to the Go Karting, where you can either join in the Karting (see forum for details) or just spectate (no fee for spectating). Plenty of room available plus there are tea and coffee facilities,
(b) Join us for the picnic at 1pm in the paddock between Filching’s Campbell Track and Filching Manor. You can park in the Go Karting car park.
