The Squirrel Inn near Battle

 

A Warm Welcome awaits from Tony and the staff at this lovely rural Inn just outside Battle This is one of the pubs we have chosen as an East Sussex meet to relax and catch up over a leisurely Sunday lunch! We will meet bi-monthly on the second Sunday of the month.

Dates for diaries in 2020 are:

 9th February, 5th April, 14th June, 9th August and 11th October

 

Please let Jon and Belinda know if you are coming by 7pm on the Tuesday prior to the Pub Meet.

The  Squirrel Inn would like to know the numbers for the Carvery to help them with their order to their local butcher, which they finalise mid week.  As this is a very popular venue it is best to book otherwise a seat cannot be guaranteed.

There is an excellent carvery at £11.95 with five or six meat choices.  There are also fish and vegetarian options to choose from together with seasonable vegetables  

Please aim to arrive at 12 noon and on arrival you will be directed to our tables where someone will come and take your orders for drinks and your menu option.

Desserts and coffees can also be ordered from the table and please settle up the balance at the end of the meal.

There are two car parks on two levels if if the car park is full there are spaces along the road.

If you would like to be put on our “Squirrel emailing list” please let us know.  An email will be sent out to everyone on the list about ten days before the event.

In the absence of  AC’s Jon & Belinda who are on holiday Jon asked me to meet and greet this months meet, a good turn out for the Squirrel Pub Lunch today 10th July 2016, not quite so warm as before but the fun and laughter soon made up for it! a warm welcome to a new SE member Sam Ward, pus we also had a Birthday Boy…Gerry!, afterwards 9 of us then went to Ashburnahm Place and has further refreshments in the Orangery tea Rooms.

Glad to see you all had a great time at The Sqirrel on Sunday the 8th July.  Once again John took some lovely photos.

WOW!!! What an absolutely amazing turnout at The Squirrel on the 13th November.  Twenty nine of us altogether.  Got the family room to ourselves and had a great time. 

 

A big thank you Chris and Heather for a great pre-lunch run from Stone Cross to Battle. 

And to Simon and Linda for taking some of us to Rye after lunch to see the hot rods and Classic car show.

A brilliant day.

Thanks everyone for turning up today and making it another great Squirrel lunch.  We think 31 was a great number and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.  Good to catch up with some members that we have not seen for a while and also great to meet some new members.

Thank you everyone who joined us today at The Squirrel.  The meal was really good and it was great to see so many of you.

But a very big thank you to Simon and Linda who arranged a visit to the Carr-Taylor Vineyard after our lunch.  

Not only was the run good but the talk and wine tasting at the Vineyard  was brilliant.  So many questions were answered and the guy giving the talk and wine tasting session was so informative and very very funny.  It was the icing on the cake of a good day out.
