Eastern Region (North West Norfolk) Breakfast Meet - Run and Visit to Stody Lodge and Gardens - Sunday 14th May - SORRY - NOW FULLY BOOKED

Good Afternoon

If you like tucking into a hearty breakfast in a Country Pub in Norfolk, followed by a 75-90 minute drive along some of North Norfolk’s finest roads before ending up at The spectacular and unusual Stody Lodge Gardens, near Melton Constable, Norfolk, then this event is made for you.

The gardens are well-known for the sheer intensity of its planting’ together with a carefully planned riot of colour on a grand scale. Established in the 1920s, the garden is well known for its extensive collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, magnolias and camellias.

Covering an area the size of three football pitches and with over 2,000 plants, the Azalea Water Gardens are believed to be the largest single planting of azalea mollis in the country. The stunning reflections of orange, red and yellow azaleas in the lake’s water are proudly overseen by a magnificent Cedar of Lebanon – at least 150 years old.

Thanks for organising Andy and Barry. Excellent breakfast followed by a lovely run to the wonderful gardens at Stody Lodge. Tea and cake followed by the obligatory ice cream!
Thanks for your hard work guys in ensuring the day ran smoothly and for making the sun come out at just the right time!!

Many thanks for those kind words. This was a real team effort, venue suggested by Mark P, run organised and drawn up by Andy and Jo, which just left the breakfast booking to me.

Hopefully we will see you at our future events throughout 2023.

Kind regards

Barry

What a glorious day! As mentioned, great breakfast, well organised routing, nice roads, pretty countryside and fabulous location to visit! If anyone outside the area is considering a visit, be aware they are open in May only. Check their website.

Just a few of the loads of photos taken, the Japanese garden was probably my favourite, but hard to choose!

Thanks again
