Am considering changing the standard Mazda brakes for the EBC turbo grooved ones with redstuff pads… BUT… is it worth it?
Dont change your discs! Ive run both standard and grooved and it does not make a major difference.
Just change your pads.
The Reds are not that good, we only recommend the Yelllows.

You’re kidding, right?
They can lock up at 70mph on dry roads even with decent tyres!
Good performance when cold, superb performance when hot - no evidence of fade even with very spirited driving - not too much dust either
I’d strongly recommend red stuff - but a lot of people say oem pads are good enough (which they possibly are, but red stuff is a lot better)
Well a lot of customers have found the Reds start to degrade after hard use and fall apart. But the majority of our customers use their MX5 for fast road and track use.
The yellows are a lot more hard wearing and will last a lot longer. Heavy braking on fast road use or track work the Yellows perform and keep performing.
The only other options are really Axiss Ultimates or Carbotechs but are expensive.
Value for money the EBC’s are the best you can buy.
