ECU remap in Yorkshire

Has anyone used Yorkshire Remaps in Leeds? If not any suggestions for this area? Thanks

Roddisons in Sheffield - transformed my ND

Who I believe still use Clive at Autotronix in Sheffield. :+1:

Clive did my NC1. Transformed it. The trouble with a lot of remap places, it is generic, not done properly on a rolling road, like Autotronix do.

Thanks - Sheffield isn’t too far and I have heard that name mentioned elsewhere- I’ll give them a ring - although Leeds would be a lot easier. Someone might have experience of Yorkshire Remaps perhaps.

Can you remap a Mk2.5 or a mk1?

I am interested in Yorkshire Remaps as live on NY Moors and Sheffield is along and not interesting drive for me . Leeds much better !

can a standard ECU be remapped to 180 hp?

im thinking of doing the bbr 180 kit which comes with a new ecu.
but i saw a guy on youtube who put on Ebay downpipes and then had a remap and got 180hp for less money than the BBR kit!

so i am wondering if i can buy the catted downpipes from BBR and go to autotronix put it on their rolling road and have my standard ecu remapped and got 180hp for less than the full BBR kit price?

I asked Skuzzle the same thing a while back.
As I recall, his Honest John Email told me it’s not worth any marginal gains unless part of an “involved” modification process.
Our ECU processors seem to be rather crude in comparision…hardly a huge surprise.
Suppose a call to (eg) BBR would not do any harm.

The actual ECU can be remapped (within tolerances) to whatever kit you put on.
Likewise, different maps for different grades of fuel too. (all adjusted from the steering wheel).
Just make sure you have a “Proper” remap done.
When you say “New ECU”, I guess you mean new remap.
Clearly, if you are going full on race car then perhaps a different ECU might be needed, (I don’t know the definitive answer).
A matter for your good self, but why buy a catted header from BBR?
Mine passes an MOT with the ILMS header and standard centre cat fitted, (Racing Beat is the other one recommended).
Sure this will stir up a hornets nest again, but it’s NOT an automatic failure if the original is replaced.
A matter for the individual whether they put a catted or none catted header on.
Personally, if you are up at that neck of the woods, speak with Rodders and Clive (or whoever else can recommend someone further North) and come up with the best solution for your needs.
Mine was all done at Skuzzle and a great job and remap done with all the safe guards still in place.
The only thing I didn’t consider at the time was the vastly increased noise which has now been addressed.
All the best. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

unfortunatly i suffer from anxiaty and am prone to worrying.
so paying the extra 200 for a catted header will save me having to whittle about it before every MOT.

as to the bbr 180 kit from the way it reads you get " BBR StarChip ECU remap and ProEcu hardware/software bundle
ok after some more reading it seems they remap the existing ecu but you also get some kind of ecu programming tool

Roger all that. :+1:
As above an individual thing and do whatever you feel comfortable with. :slightly_smiling_face:

all i want is the catted header, center pipe, remap and the rolling road tune up,
i dont really see why i need the extra elctronic hardware.

WOW i just looked up roddisons website!
for just 1800 you get remap-rolling road tune up. FULL exhaust system and an induction kit!

while at BBR for 1400 you only get header, remap and ecu tool!

Double check the prices over the phone. The website isn’t always updated.:+1:
