ECU Remap

I came across a crowd called Quatum Tuning (bizarrely through facebook) and they offer ECU remaps on pure stock N/A engines as well as FI’d engines too. They are claiming a moderate HP, Torque and mpg boost from their remaps. If they’re decent I might look into it. Can anyone support these guys? I am curious as they have a dealer in Falmouth, which is 15 mins from me.

Here’s a link to their Mx5 page with some stats. I have a 2.0 sport. Do you think it’s worth it?

Personally I would ask someone with a known history is stuff like this like Blink Motorsport, it is not going to hurt to give them a call.

Sanspeed do the ECU modifications for many of the race cars but the increases also need some breathing modifications as well to make them work. If an eight percent power increase was easily (and cheaply) available, I think a lot more would be known about it.

Im not convinced yuo would actually get that from JUST a remap… The Manifold is the best place to start on the NC 2.0 as the standard one is VERY restrictive… A good manifold and remap to suit will see you with a genuine 180 bhp +

Well what kind of manifold would be best? A 4-1 or a 4-2-1? What are the differences between them? Do they offer different benefits?

The ones on mx5 parts have no upper cat. will this definitely affect future MOT’s, or is the second cat enough?

4-1 such as the BBR or similar…

No will not affect MOT as it only a pre cat…

Racing Beat Manifold

MOT will be alright as long as the cat is hot

Had mine remapped at Autotronix Developments (Clive)
