Electric Aerial

I now have a 2003 S-VT Sport (Mk2.5 NB-FL as per VIN number list)

Question is can I fit an Electric Aerial as my car only has a manual non electric aerial.

Have checked behind the trim in the boot and found 3 wires in a connector block that is unused, what this for?

So is this for an electric aerial or a heated rear window, my softtop has a plastic rear window.

Yes, all MK2.5 cars should facilitate fitting an electric aerial.

That plug sounds like the electric aerial plug - should have black wire, grey with black stripe wire and blue with red stripe wire.

Very easy to fit.

Surprised that your SVT sport does not have an electric aerial as standard - perhaps it was replaced at  some time.

I wondered why the word facilitate was partly censored in my post and realised I had inadvertently missed out an ‘i’ in the middle

More surprising is that it has a plastic rear window.

The car has had a new softtop at sometime in the past, not sure when, but that could explain the rear window.

There appears to only be 3 wires, blue with red stripe, black & what looks like white with poss a black stripe, will check again tomorrow. But there is no plug as it appears to have been cut then put into a connector block (with little screws fixes)

I have an electirc aerial that I removed from my Mk1 Eunos donor that has a connector with 4 wires from the white box at the side of the motor, Blue with white stripe, Green with white stripe, blue with brown stripe & black with yellow stripe.

The motor has 3 wires going to a connector omn the bottom of that white plastic box, they are; white, yellow & brown

Thanks everyone.

If you are anything  like myself, and you know next to nothing about car electrics I would suggest that you take your car to a car electrician, they will sort it out for you in ten minutes or less. I have always found these guys very good.

As you probably saw from my first post, the loom wires you have are correct. The car has been played around with over the years and an aftermarket electric aerial fitted at some time. The original plug would have been cut off and the connector allowed for the aftermarket aerial to be connected.

In your position I recommend soldering on an original plug and fit the correct arial.

I have the plug with atub wiring to solder on and sell refurbished MK2 aerials - Private message me if interested.
