Hi. 1993 MK 1 EUNOS The window has pushed the rubber channel up to the top so the window will not shut right to the top. Will have to remove door panel etc and try and pull channel back down, thought i might as well fit a new rubber channel. Can anyone advise wher i might get one. Many thanks Colin.
I had this problem and fixed it by taking off the door panel and easing the channel back into place. Lubing the channel with Holts Rubber and Plastic Lube Spray (not any old silicone spray) cured it.
I Too had this problem after fitting a new motor and cable unit to my o/s door. I pulled the rubber completely out of the runner and sprayed wd40 down the gully. I the pushed the rubber back into place and didn’t have to take the door apart again. I then tested the window, no worries!
Many thanks for your advice The rubber is now back in place a bit out of shape at the top but the window is now working fine.[:D] COLIN
I had the same problem today and solved it without removing the door panels. I pulled all the visible rubber out of the channel and sprayed silicone spray into the now empty channel. I then lifted some 2 inches of rubber upwards from inside the door panel, and gently pushed all the slack back down into the door panel. It worked a treat and I will have no hesitation in resparaying on a regular basis to prevent the rubber being pushed up again
