Elise/VX220 Seats - Bracket designs

 Hi All

I’ve just acquired a nice set of VX220 seats for my Mk1.  I want to be able to use the seat adjustment so I need some brackets made up to fit the seats to the original Mazda runners.

Does anyone have:

a. A set they can sell me?

b. A set of plans/templates that I can borrow/purchase so I can get some made up?

I’m guessing that the VX220 seats are exactly the same fitment as the Elise/Exige, so any of those designs should be OK.  PLease tell me if I’m wrong!

Thanks All - I’ve been offered a set for £100 on Nutz by Randamonia, so if you’re on here too…no offence meant!

Got to be quick as I’m just about to get ready for work…

I was going to do this to mine. I went to the extent of going to a Lotus dealer, explaining the salesman that he wasn’t going to make a sale to me but I wanted to sit in a Mk1 Elise for about 20 minutes to see if the seats were comftable enought to live with. Suprisingley he aggreed and I have to say, they were really nice! Minimal padding, But the way the shell was sculpted ment this didn’t matter.

Anyway, Have a look here. This site should give you all the info you need, But remember that it’s an American car he’s done it to, so you might need to do a mirror image of them for a right hand drive car.

Thanks - I had looked at that link - was just a little wary of LHD/RHD issues.  But will defo use it as a reference.

Why would there be a difference to seat brackets between a RHD & LHD car??

I don’t bloody know! That’s why I’m asking on here, but thanks for making me look stupid!Geek

I just reread the original post. I was thinking you’d bought a single Elise seat, Not a pair. If your fitting a pair then it doesn’t matter which sides the drivers side.

I’ve a feeling that MX5 seat runners are handed for driver or passenger sides, But I’m not 100% sure on that.

Anyway, Here’s another site you might find useful… http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php/topic,20342.0.html
