- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __MoT ECU setting - my car has been tuned by BLINKJ, sadly no longer with us - to 180 bhp and has four switch settings where 1 is “original” and suits 95 RON petrol, 2 which is fast road use and need 98, plus two more which are simply bells and whistles. Which of the first two, original or fast, assuming I shall have 98 in the tank, should give the leanest emmissions for next week’s MoT?
All else being equal, I don’t think it would matter. Try and book a timed MOT and go for a good Italian tune up blast to get the whole system heated up just before turning up.
That is the plan!
I asked the tuner the same question when the first MOT was due after my Ecutek remap.
He said it won’t matter, so I just leave it on the tuned map for Vpower.
She’s had seven MOTs since.
Me too (7 MoTs) but last year was tricky and with hindsight, I don’t think I got the engine hot enough before I went in for the test
