I didn’t get to use my mx5 over the winter and have noticed « furring » on the engine aluminium parts. What is the best means to clean this up ?
Alloy fur should come off with a light toothbrush style wire brush/stiff bristle nylon brush or a bit of wire wool/scotchpad. It wont look new again but will remove the oxidation on the surface. Obviously the harder you work the cleaner it will get.
