Engine oil price

Can someone explain this.
Mx5 parts are selling 5ltrs of Mobil fully synthetic for £49.39. But 1ltre is £7.03.
5x £7.03. = £35.15.:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

See this kind of pricing for all kinds of products in supermarkets all the time. Thing to check is the viscocity specifications are they the same, if so you know what to do.

Halfords seems to do the same on some products.
Cheaper to get 5 x 1 ltr than to get 1 x 5 ltr

I found the same thing on foam tail light seals, a pair was £3 dearer than buying 2 separately.

I always price match everything especially oils as someone else mentioned check 1 litres is totally same oil as 4 or 5 litres i always try to keep a stock of oil i also buy when i see offers normally i have oil 6 months before a service is due sad i know :face_holding_back_tears::smiley::smiley: always shop around sometimes you can get a bargain on a personal note I think we should get better discounts being in owners club not much incentive to use certain companies regards Richy tyne tees area

Wow, that’s a long sentence!

Edit… No, sorry, it’s not. It doesn’t have a full stop at the end.

Don’t worry, it could be worse; I write with zero grammar skills and basically write c**p

I know I digress, b ut I’ve been buying all supermarket foodstuffs both fresh and otherwise by the tiny :face_with_raised_eyebrow: Price per 100 Gram for years. Think of why they make it so small as almost impossible to read. Engine oils or anything else on so called “Special”…chances are it aint going to be so special at the checkouts. We are encircled when we leave home by a herd of corporate con artists. So if any of you see some old git with a small magnifying glass, laugh at will, but he or she will leave that store without being a slaughtered lamb. Supermarkets are the worst serial offenders. Online car spares are another level altogether…I broke my Suzuki key fob…the bit that goes onto the key ring. Suzuki price £240.00 all in…online specialist £52.00. Not bought it yet…I’ve still to check the part numbers but the reviews from the Club seem good.

Ooh did you see that, a digression  There are times when you might find me wondering around ‘retail outlets’ with phone in hand to read the small print. Not sure how much I save or even on a cost per hour basis it is even worth it but I like to think I am keeping the smart derriers at HQ on their toes
