Enginefinish

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __2004 sport
  2. I’m based near: __essex
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __

The aluminium finish on my engine components is rather faded and looking pretty sorry for its self. What would be the best means of improving this ?

If you prefer the aluminium finish you can you some high temperature aluminium paint.

Buying a new car.

Technique???

So all pipes and hoses I used auto Glym rubber and vinyl. Spray a bit onto microfibre cloth and wipe on / off as per instructions on bottle also for the rubber seals on the edges

Engine block I used WD40. I started using a wire brush in discrete area but didn’t like that it made fine scratches so used just a stiff plastic brush and then wiped off with microfibre - before and after in link a few comments above

For the plastic bits like filter cover, top of headlights I just used black trim polish (trim restorer / back to black )

For the painted bodywork, just sponge and bilt hamper shampoo to clean but didn’t want to drip everywhere so was careful. Then used a bit of bilt hamber autobalm
