Essex Boys Fathers Day Run - Sunday 20th June

ESSEX BOYS FATHERS DAY RUN SUNDAY 20th JUNE 2009

Its time for the annual Essex Boys run again!

Start point is Manningtree railway station car park (CO11 2LH), which for the regulars, is the same place as previous Essex Boys’ runs.  Please be there for 9.00, with a 9.30am departure.  The station cafe have been alerted and will be open for bacon rolls and drinks!

Please print out and bring along a copy of the route.

Route part 1 to Roys at Sudbury is about 52 miles.  Buy your picnic in Sudbury then Route Part 2 is 40 miles to the new end point, Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum.

The Gardens and Arboretum located in Essex, feature landscaped woodland walks and footpaths, with vistas across the lakes to the Millennium Walk and the 18th Century Walled Garden, recently remodelled to provide a stunning combination of contemporary and traditional landscaping and planting.
Free entry to the Tea room, Picnic area, Toilets and Gift Shop.

Entrance to the Arboretum cost £4, but if you see Neil on arrival he can arrange a concession of £3.

Nice day out, cheers guys.  Loved the new end point, great tea and great looking cakes but had by then eaten rather a lot of cake. 

 

 

 

 

 Glad everyone enjoyed the run, as the second half was only worked out last weekend.

The good old Essex weather did us proud in the end.
