Looking at purchasing an mk1 radio and CD player…
I have contacted Andy at Autolink who is keeping an eye out…
Any leads or advice would be great.

Hi Theo
I don’t think leads will be a problem but the unit will be:-)
These are like hens teeth now and when someone asked me about similar I found this
If you are prepared to pay that sort of money, fair enough but I am thinking you may have thought these would be available considerably cheaper and indeed in better condition; I, and the person I was looking for, certainly were.
Hi Rob,
Honestly, I was hoping to pay half that price from maybe a private member.
It’s just to finish off the interior of the car, a nice to have but definitely not a must have.
Theo
I think the guy I was looking for expected to pay about £50, so you are far more realistic.
May be worth extending the search abroad.
I will have a look again and message you if I find anything.
Perhaps a silly question but does the unit need to be working?
Hiya Rob,
Ideally working, otherwise you might see me on the repair shop. In all seriousness I really have no idea about getting these things repaired…
I was looking at the U.S and elsewhere, did see one in Germany but it was an old link. Again I have no idea about installation and the impact of coming from outside the UK.
Any of the two units and any help would be great.
Theo
Are you going for a full restoration or do you like the old style look of the radio?
I plan on fitting a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB in the future to my eunos, as its got both the modern technologies and the old style look
I will have some stored , but everything is upside down at the minute with building work going on so will not be this side of xmas with the weather fighting me, until i have manged to sort through everything and arrange it all until the storage unit is up and sealed.
But you will need a band expander to pick up all the UK stations as they are Japanese eunos correct HU’s.
What version are you renovating ?

Does look good and may be an option if my search doesn’t find an original.
Many thanks,
Theo
It’s a early 89 Eunos, this would just finish off interior. Hoping to pick-up in the New Year. So no rush. Ideally would sell my NC first…
I think you will find that the radio, with the band expander fitted will be fine but the CD will either not work at all or be unsatisfactory. It seems that most keep the look but replace the CD internals with a modern improved equivalent mechanism.
Nice thing to do but will take some serious effort and cost.
Something else that is very rare is the original style electric aerial that fits the very early cars. Finding one of these nowadays, a costly challenge too, as well as wiring it in.
A 89 would of only have been fitted with the 3/4 radio cassette player, not the CD unit.

I recently bought one of these the seller said it worked, before putting in my eunos i had a audio guy check it for me, there is no sound coming from it and the CDs keep ejecting out. Does anyone know who could repair this please?
Thanks Dave
