Just back from a taking the Eunos on pretty hard run out, got back and noticed what sounds to be a metallic grinding/rattle that wasn’t there before. Video attached (exhaust is blowing) if anyone has any ideas or similar sounding noise before, I’ve just checked the quick and easy bolts incase I’d missed one but they are all good.
Take your dipstick out, hold the yellow handle against your ear and put the other end against various parts of the engine, water pump, alternator etc etc, it works like a stethoscope.
Don’t have any dangling or loose clothing that can catch in the belts….
First thing I tried was with a long screwdriver and couldn’t pinpoint anything, I’ve recently changed the water pump, timing belt and pulleys. I might disconnect both alt and ps belts and see if it disappears. Definitely sounds like it’s emanating from the front. Easy to forget it’s a 33 year old engine with the “spirited” driving it “enjoys” so I’ve got to expect it will let go eventually, just not right now would be great.
Don’t know what a PS pump with low fluid sounds like. Have you checked the level?
