Hi,
I’ve read comments regarding damper misting, and maybe they don’t need replacing before the MOT, but I’m also wondering about the needs for Damper rubber boot replacement. Does anyone have any advice on where to get them, in UK, and if they’re necessary, please?

They should be an MOT failure though.

From what I’ve read, misting shock absorbers should pass the MOT, but not certain.

From the testers manual section 5.3.2.

(b) A shock absorber damaged to the extent that it does not function or showing signs of severe leakage

That’s a Major, the advisory always used to be “a shock absorber has a light misting of oil”, I didn’t know if that same advisory still exists.

The “a shock absorber has a light misting of oil” still has an advisory.

Two new shock absorbers have just arrived.
