EURO 2020 Football -The Final Sunday 11th July 2021 - England v Italy

You are correct. That was despicable.
I won’t comment on what sentence is appropriate, if one indeed is, as that is for our great courts, but like you, I hope the perpetrator is identified.

Well done to England for getting to the final. A lot of the accolades have to go to Southgate for building a great team spirt and for having what appears to be a grounded squad. If we look at the quality through the whole squad I think we have a great chance.

The danger is the Italian defence targeting/winding up Harry Maquire and Co in defence and drawing yellow cards and also the Italians reverting to type i.e ten men behind the ball and counter attacking.

Fingers crossed that footballs is coming home this time.

Not a personal attack. just a tongue-in-cheek remark hence the " "

Maybe it touched on a raw nerve :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve got a decent number (as in shed loads) of years before I’m an old man lol

That’s great, enjoy them all.

Personally, I enjoy being a grumpy old man - I think I’ve earned it

Oh, and forgot to say - age does give me the benefit of being able to say I have celebrated England winning the World Cup

I rather suspect this has more to do with a belief that the current official honours list, (as bestowed by Her Majesty), are given out like confetti and drizzled liberally on all and sundry, instead of being dished out in limited numbers to the truly deserving. The fairly reasonable suggestion, of course is that the honours system as a whole is undermined by the process.

I’m sure our friend @NDer will correct me, if I’m off beam, but I reckon that’s caught his intent.

Exactly that.
Thanks

Mason Mount certainly cemented one fan in a touching moment at the conclusion of England v Denmark…

Hi Rob! Is that your way of saying that they’re “in a the deep end” as the old saying goes, or “out of their depth” even?

Could be.
On the other hand…we know the outcome here.

As a “Scot” actually born in Shifnal from Welsh / Dublin / Highlander bloodlines…life can get confusing.
I’d not win any Crufts rosettes for sure.
Anyway, England & the UK needs a winning uplift of sorts…anywhere…by anyone…including LH at Silverstone this weekend.
It’s been a pure shyteepoohbox for 18 months for us all.

Could be quite a sporting day for Italy on Sunday - They have their first ever Wimbledon Finalist playing on Sunday, with Matteo Berrettini playing in the Men’s Final - One thing for sure though, he wont be playing an Englishman…! :joy:
