We just need to be careful now, an ‘own’ goal by Denmark got us on the scoresheet, followed by a missed penalty (that may not have been a penalty) Kane recovering and scoring off the rebound. TBH though, it’s the final score that counts, not the journey to get there. I’m just so pleased for everyone involved, including the fans, that we are where we are this morning. Looking forward to Sunday now. C’mon England 🏴

For me first 45 mins not great, next 60 mins perfect way to play did Denmark ever reach the England goal in that 60mins? Last 15 mins and not my idea of guaranteeing the win, sitting back and hoping not to give a penalty or free kick or just concede a goal, I don’t like that negative play. I don’t see why they couldn’t have continued the same pressure on the Denmark goal, but I’m no expert or multi-million £ Manager

Almost inevitable, but shows how pathetic that ‘honours’ system is.
I don’t know why they give them out like confetti to whoever the latest darling is.
Waters down the whole point of them.
Not that I ever will receive one, but I would REFUSE one if it was given for simply doing my job.
Don’t worry, you’ll never get one. Nobody has ever been knighted for being a “grumpy old man”.
Southgate on the other hand has achieved what no England manager has for 55 years, and the last manager that got England to a major final was knighted, thereby setting a precedent

It’s a great shame that patriotism has become a dirty word where the English are being made to feel guilty for flying the flag. I am not a big footie fan but I have been following this and personally I thought the match was superb from start to finish. Real edge of the seat stuff. Yes ok so we benefited from an own goal and a fluffed save with Denmark scoring the only genuine goal which by any standards was superb but it’s the end result that matters and the final will be a nail biter. The rest of the UK may feel differently but I will be flying my virtual flag and having everything crossed we can see it through. After the last 18 months we need something to feel good about.

True. Many have been knighted for being the latest darling though, or for doing their job which they get paid to do.

He also was a successful club manager, mind you, at Ipswich prior to England. More than 10 years easy if memory serves me correctly. Also, one in which he managed it almost primarily using the club’s youth system. I think he bought hardly any players in from outside. Two were Fran Tyssen and Arnold Muran (spelling) who spiced up the division back then when international players were much, much rarer.
Gareth’s was a stint at 'Boro. Included a relegation and was sacked the year after.
A nasty, dangerous action has also been revealed, the shining of a laser in the Danish goalkeeper’s face. I only hope the idiot gets identified and gets a long prison term.
