Hi all,
I’m taking my 1990 Roadster over to Germany next month and have been trawling the net trying to find Breakdown Cover. They all seem to limit themselves to cars no older than 10 years with the closest so far being 16 years. I note most Classic Car Insurance policies would have included this, but I got a good deal on a joint ‘normal’ policy when I renewed this year and they will only cover cars up to 10 years old!
My general UK policy is with the RAC.
Any suggestions?
Rich
Try Britannia Rescue, an especially good deal if you are a member of CSMA. Don’t think they have an age limit, but I could be wrong (all my cars are over 10 years old!!)

Hi Alan,
I’ve just tried Brittania - they asked specifically for the car details, so accept it as a 21 year old car. However, they want £175! Unfortunately I’m not CSMA. Thanks for the suggestion though

Dont the AA do cover? They used to for classics as we had it when we took ours to france the first year aged 20 years?
Just been on their site and they do an annual policy for our 1989 car for £150 less the membership discount!
Can you not just get a “personal” policy that would cover you to drive any car? So far as I can see the AA have no restrictions on age with that policy?
all the euro brakdown cover i have seen is based on the vehicle not the policy holder but the aa do not restrict on age it seams.
Thanks all for the responses. During my investigation, I read that the RAC waived the ‘older car’ premium if you’re a member of a recognised car club. I realised the OC has an agreement with the RAC, so called them and they’ve done just that - £36 for my trip.
Cheers
Rich
