Exhaust Backbox bolts

Hi
My Eldest son has recently acquired a MK2.5 of which he is immensely proud, its pretty sound apart from some rust on the arches, and one of the improvements was an MX5 parts exhaust which turned up here today.
Now neither of us are very good mechanics but I have a pair of ramps and we are hoping to do the job tomorrow, ( Sat 3rd ) my question is, assuming we are able to deal with the original rusted bolts, how tight should we do up the new bolts , as we don’t want to break anything , but also we don’t want the exhaust to leak, is there a Torque setting? and should we use gasket paste on the joint?. any tips would be helpful.
Cheers
Boz

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NB
  2. I’m based near: Colchester
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Exhaust

Good choice if the single exit SS back box. I fitted one when I had a Mk2, nice quality and the sound just right.
Get the crush washer and it should be all you’ll need. Bolt torques, no idea but obviously enough to give a gas tight fit.

OK, thanks :+1:
