sroll down to see exhausts.

They seem to have a good reputation.

My favourite would be a Larini - not too chav, whilst being a little beefier.

On the subject, I was thinking of doing the exact opposite - when I bought my car it had been fitted with a tuned exhaust, which is a lot louder than I want. Would it be practical to swap the exhaust with the one on someone else’s car? And how difficult would it be? I’ve got a reasonable amount of experience with tools, but not a lot with working on cars.

The other part of that is… Is there anyone out there with a stock exhaust who would like a louder one? It’s a mk2, if that makes any difference, and I live in South West London, near Kingston.

I found the receipt from the garage which fitted the exhaust in the first place and emailed them, they quoted around £100 to put a stock/quiet exhaust on it, and I’d rather not spend that much!

Not sure which model you have but I fitted a Jackson Racing System to my Mk1 when I had it and it was fantastic. I had lots of nice comments about how good it sounded. It’s a bit on the pricey side but if they did it for the Mk2 I have now I would definately get one.

I got mine from Moss Europe and waited until they had an offer which made it a little less painful. I got my local Tyre and Exhaust place to fit it and they charged me £50.

I got the header, high Flow Cat and the sports exhaust.

If you want your car to sound great this is the one.

When I sold the car I took it off and sold it separately and got half my money back.

Hope this helps

Kevin

Kevallen, that’s more or less what I want to do - apart from the selling it part! I just don’t really know much (if anything) about buying parts and fitting them, which is why I would be willing to do a straight swap, especially if the other person knew what they were doing!

I suspect I’m going to have more luck trying to buy a stock exhaust cheap somewhere and hoping we have a tech day relatively soon though!

Just in case you haven’t found it - MX5Nutz is a good site for picking up parts cheap.  Worth keeping an eye on.
