Exhaust options Eunos

I’m looking for some advice on exhaust choice (Cat-back) that doesn’t sound raspy and overly loud. I’ve gone from the standard to a dual exit which was too loud and droning, I then bought an eight nine off Bofi which had ok reviews for sound but having lived with it for a few months now I hate the sound of it. Considering going back to stock but as I’m in the process of supercharging I didn’t want to restrict the engine. Are there any options that are slightly louder than stock but not cheap, raspy, boomy sounding?

I fitted the MX-5 parts twin exit on my previous supercharged Eunos, I found it perfectly acceptable on motorways etc, no droning.

I’ve got a cat-back Cobalt on my Eunos, it’s been on there for at least 10 years, no issues.

I had the same make on my ND for 5 years, again, a bit more noise and was told “that sounds nice”

Cobalt seems to be the way to go when I’ve had a dig around, experience from others is definitely helpful before I go and buy yet another exhaust :face_with_peeking_eye:

I think the key thing is to have a resonated midpipe. Also, wrap the downpipe with exhaust wrap as It’ll absorb some of the sound. Going for turbo instead of supercharger would also quieten it down but does completely change the exhaust sound.

The biggest difference for me was when I decatted mine. Very loud! Racing beat do a 200 cell sports cat as an option.

I think I’m going to stay away from a de-cat for now even if it is restricted. It’s hard to appreciate the 1.6b6 when my other option is an EJ, definitely tempted to go with unequal length headers on the eunos but I’m not sure the performance drop is worth it

The only exhaust I’ve found which isn’t too loud and doesn’t drone is the Racing Beat Power Pulse with the resonated mid-pipe. Mind you, it is quite pricey, but it is beautifully made and sounds lovely.
