- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: bluetooth f.m. transmitter. Has anyone used one of these things? If so, what would be recommended?__
I bought one from sainsbury’s for 8 quid, has lasted well over a year and still going strong. It plugs in the 12v socket and has 1 usb port as well as the FM transmitter and bluetooth. I think there was a fancier one there for about 20 quid that had an extra usb port and a usb C port.
I use one, its brilliant.
Sound quality is better from the phone via bluetooth and plugged into the aux socket than from the cd player.
Well, I bit the bullet and got one, from AliExpress for 78p, 94p including vat!!! Delivered within a week, plugged it into the lighter socket, and here’s the first problem, it only transmits on 78.5 fm but that’s fine with my radio. Paired up to phone without any issue, plugged in a £5.00 mini flash drive with 32gb music files, just what’s needed for the Le Mans trip next year, and all works great. Voice activated call out through Bixbie. It has 3 buttons on the side, call answer/end, last track and next track, and that’s about it. Honestly, for 78p what more do you want. I will defo come back here if or when it pack up…
If you have an aux socket next to the power socket,
Plugging the unit into that, rather than using the fm transmission, should give much better sound quality.
Did the unit come with a usb to aux plug lead ?
Mine did.
no, no lead and it’s NOT all singing or all dancing!!! What it does is tell me, (in a Chinese accent) is that a call is coming through by interrupting the music and telling me the number calling. It’s not hands free and it doesn’t have a microphone, extremely basic, but, it does send music from my 32gb flash drive to my very basic radio with excellent sound quality. So really, for less than a quid, including delivery, it ain’t too bad. I’ll probably get a more complex one when my premium bond comes up ….
Yes, mine does have hands free and came complete with lead.
However all that came at a price - 15 quid or so, I think…
