Finally succumbed!

Hey everyone!

After far too long I’ve finally been persuaded

I was recently working with some friends down in Bristol, one of whom had a 5. I was nudged into seeing if I fitted (I’m 6’5") as I always used that as an excuse as to why I could never buy one…

Unfortunately (?) I did… haha! And it felt good.

I also had a spin aorund in another friends little 5, a 1.8 manual which sounded and felt fantastic so I started looking a lot more seriously.

Glad to say I’m just sorting out collection of my own little 1.8 MX5!

I’ve never seen these interiors on a 5 before though, can anyone enlighten me as to where these came from?

Look forward to hearing from you all and sharing some thoughts

Chris!

That car is listed by the DVLA as being red originally. MCL, who were the official importers in 1996/97, used to offer interior upgrades. The interiors were retrimmed UK-side (actually I think they used a local trim factory, who kept a supply of ready trimmed interiors, and just used to swap them out). On the other hand, over the years, someone could have put an interior from another car. It llooks like the interior might have come from a Daker edition

Some one must have been on the “sherberts” when fitting the Mazda badge on the back…Big Smile
