First Oil Change experience with KATSU ramps

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __RF Homura 2024
  2. I’m based near: __South East

Just some feedback on my first oil change. I bought KATSU Plastic Car Ramps, Extra Wide and Detachable 161921 and was worried they wouldn’t clear the front spoiler and it wouldn’t raise the front end high enough to get under without addtional trolley jacking. Well the ramps cleared the front spoiler easily and there was adequate room to remove the undercover plate to access the drain bolt and filter. The shallow rise angle and rubber feet meant there was no slipping and sliding of the ramps as you drove up, something I experienced a lot with old metal steeper angled ramps. As a bonus you can remove the main ramp sections for easier access under the center of the car once raised too. Seem well made, good thought out design and strong enough.

A good review thankyou & well timed as I am just pondering solutions for getting under my NC with minimum fuss for my 60 yr old bones.

I hear you, I’m 57 so put an old cut of carpet down for added comfort! Recommend a power tool too. My Milwaukee Fuel Rachet made removing the 11 cover bolts super quick and easy. But it’s still doable with a manual socket wrench.

I’ve some Rhino ramps. So much more convenient than jack/stands when the job is suitable. Gives a good height when working in the engine bay too.

Before purchase I saw the Rhino low rise too but they seem to be only affordable and available in USA. You can source in UK?

The genuine article plus a copy were both available off eBayUK six months ago. I bought the genuine which were expensive at £90.

Cheaper than the Katsu then new. Unless you can find reburbished on eBay sometimes.
