First time MX5 owner based in D&G

Hi all,

Hope you’re all enjoying this top-down weather.

Bought my first MX5 (2018 Z-Sport) a couple of weeks ago and have rekindled my love of driving. I used to drive a classic mini (which I still own but has been off the road for about 19 years) and forgot how much fun driving can be.

My dog, Geoff, loves to cruise around with me in is doggy seat with his ears flapping in the wind.

Looking at the events, there doesn’t seem to be much doing in this little corner of Scotland (south west). Any other members in the area and, if so, do you meet up at all?

Thanks,

TM

Wow, looks tidy! I have a 1990 Checkmate and a 1994 Cooper, both in various states of disrepair. Also had a '72 Clubman but reluctantly had to sell it.

There are regular events split between East and West Central Scotland, as a Club member you’d be updated on when they are scheduled.

You’re also not that far from Tyne Tees area and North West groups too.

We’ll probably be through D&G with a group from Grampian later in September too.

Thanks Ian, much appreciated.

I did look at the events and area groups but, unfortunately, I’m a long way from anywhere down here. Glasgow is two hours away and Tyne Tees three hours. I’m about an hour and 45 minutes from the border.

My own fault for living out in the sticks with no motorway, though it’s made up for by all the fun country roads and no traffic lights :).

I just wondered whether there were any other members in the Galloway area who occasional meet up informally.

Hopefully some will see this and get in touch, you’ve definitely got great roads in the area.

This area is not too well served by the club. i lived just outside Brampton for a while and had that problem. It needs someone to run with D&G and Carlisle postcodes and set up an area.
